Invisalign – invisible braces with great results
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment method that uses a series of removable aligners to straighten your teeth. These aligners are made from a clear, plastic material which makes them virtually invisible to others around you.
How does Invisalign work?
An average course of Invisalign treatment takes about 12 months. Throughout the course of treatment, you’ll be required to change your aligners approximately every two weeks. You’ll also see our orthodontist here at Allstar Orthodontics every eight weeks for adjustments and to check progress.
By changing your custom-moulded aligners every fortnight, your teeth are being encouraged to move into a straighter position, helping to improve your smile and overall appearance. The total number of aligners is specific to you and is determined by us for your course of treatment.
What are the benefits of Invisalign?
The greatest benefit of Invisalign is that the aligners used are virtually invisible. This means there’s no unwarranted attention to your mouth while you’re receiving treatment. In fact, very few people will notice you’re wearing them at all – unless you tell them of course.
Invisalign aligners are also comfortable to wear and can be easily removed when you eat, brush and floss. This makes them a very hygienic orthodontic treatment option – much more so than traditional braces.
There are also different types of Invisalign aligners available for teenagers and adults who are after a quick fix.
Top five Invisalign tips
To help get the most out of your Invisalign treatment, we recommend the following tips:
- Change your Invisalign aligners every two weeks if you are wearing them full time.
- After eating, put your aligners back in straight away.
- You only need to brush your teeth twice a day, not after every meal.
- Keep all of your aligners, even when you have finished wearing them.
- Enjoy your treatment – it’s the best way to have a great smile!
